Titan GPS + Hudl: Bringing Physical Performance Data to Teams at Every Level

6 min Read

Titan Sports is joining the Hudl family, bringing GPS tracking to every level of sport, combining video, stats and now athlete physical data.

Today marks a huge milestone in our journey to make every moment count. We're thrilled to announce that Titan Sports is joining the Hudl family, bringing GPS tracking to every level of sport. With Titan now part of the Hudl ecosystem, you don’t have to be a professional team to get the full picture—video, stats and performance data.

Why does this matter? We're closing the gap in the wearables and physical performance data landscape.

For years, we've been building solutions that serve teams across the entire spectrum of sports. The addition of Titan makes Hudl’s performance tracking tools more accessible to youth, club, high school, college and mid-market professional teams, while Hudl’s WIMU wearable continues to serve higher-end professional organizations. Together, they offer teams flexible options to match their needs and goals.

The same powerful insights that help pro-level teams win championships should be available to everyone–not just those with pro-level budgets and specialized staff.

That's where Titan comes in.

Expanding the Wearables and Athlete Performance Ecosystem

The acquisition of Titan Sports isn't our first step into performance tracking–it's the next realization of a vision we've been building toward.

With the addition of WIMU in 2022 and the launch of Hudl Signal earlier this year, we established ourselves at the highest levels of sport. Professional teams such as the Spanish National Team and Fulham FC now benefit from ultra-precise tracking and advanced analytics. Now, with Titan, we’ll extend that same philosophy to all levels, with hardware and interfaces specifically designed for those environments.

This means we can now proudly say: No matter what level you coach or play at, Hudl has a solution built for your specific needs.

The Complete Performance Picture: Video, Stats, and Now Physical Data

For years, teams at the lower levels have relied on their eyes and intuition, while pro teams track every drill, practice, scrimmage and game to get the full picture. The gap in what coaches actually know about their athlete and team’s physical performance has been massive.

Whether we’re talking to a club, high school or college coach, we hear similar challenges:

  • “I can tell my running back is fast, but colleges want exact numbers”
  • “I’m pretty sure our midfielder is covering more ground than anyone”
  • “My linemen look gassed in the fourth quarter, but I don’t know if it’s my conditioning program or practice intensity”

That's where Titan fits perfectly into the Hudl ecosystem you already use and trust. Right now, you're getting two dimensions of the performance story. Hudl Focus shows you what happened on the field. Hudl Assist tells you the statistical outcomes. But there's been a missing piece–the physical data that explains athlete training and performance.

With Titan, we’re closing the invisible athlete data gap. You're finally seeing what's actually happening with your athletes' bodies during practice and games. Who hasn’t trained enough and who has reached maximum load?

Your athletes feel this gap too. They're competing against athletes who pass the “eye test” or have verified data at camps. But who actually plays fast? They know that "Coach says I'm fast" doesn't carry the same weight as "GPS verified 21.3 mph in game conditions."

What Titan Brings to the Table

Titan has cracked the code on something remarkable: GPS tracking that's both accessible AND powerful.

Titan makes it possible to outfit your entire team–not just your stars. This approach makes performance data fun, not just functional, with features like:

  • Speed and effort verification to back up what you’re seeing in the highlights
  • Visual workload monitoring that helps you build effective practice plans that mirror gametime situations
  • Position-specific metrics like the football "Truck Stick" (speed × weight) that finally gives linemen their due
  • Automated leaderboards that turn practice into friendly competition
  • Heat maps and 3D replays that reveal movement patterns you'd miss otherwise

But here's what really gets us excited: Titan's passionate community. They've built a following of coaches and athletes who genuinely love using this technology. Not because it's flashy, but because it helps.

What This Means For You

If you're already using Hudl, you'll soon have the opportunity to unlock a whole new dimension of performance insights, tailored to your specific level of play.

For football coaches: Head into every game with confidence that your practice plans throughout the week have everyone ready to compete physically for four quarters. Create competition in practice with metrics that don't lie. Verify your athletes' speed for recruiting.

For soccer coaches: Track position-specific demands from midfielders to defenders. Manage workloads across tournaments to keep players fresh. Validate tactical execution with movement heat maps.

For strength coaches: Illustrate how your program works with on-field performance metrics. Guide safer return-to-play progressions with objective data. Build buy-in by connecting weight room work to game day results.

For athletic directors: Stretch your technology budget across multiple sports. Reduce injury risk through smarter practice planning. Simplify your vendor relationships with one unified platform.

For athletes: Add accurate speed to your highlights to stand out to recruiters. Track your improvement with objective metrics. Compete on leaderboards and share your achievements.

Our Integration Next Steps

We're excited about what Titan and Hudl will accomplish together. And we know you want to see results right away, not just promises about the future. Here's what our next steps look like:

Starting Now (Summer/Fall 2025):

  • Shared billing and support
  • Titan existing features work out-of-the-box:
    • GPS tracking for outdoor sports
    • Performance tagging such as top-speed, max load, acceleration, etc.
    • Heat map overlays, 3D and satellite field views
    • Automated leaderboards and player comparison charts
    • Team summary dashboards and custom report creation
    • Video and data stack up visualizations

Our Vision (Coming Soon):

  • One seamless platform for all your performance data
  • Single sign-on with your Hudl credentials
  • Real-time Titan metrics alongside video in your Hudl platform
  • Auto-tagging of high-intensity moments in video
  • Combined reporting across products
  • AI-powered insights and recommendations
  • Speed metrics automatically logged for your highlights

While GPS tracking for outdoor sports is exciting, it's just the beginning. We're already working on bringing wearable technology indoors too. In the future, basketball, volleyball, and other indoor sports will get the same physical performance insights that outdoor teams are about to experience. The vision is simple: no matter where your team competes, you should be able to track, measure, and improve the physical side of performance.

A Unified Performance Philosophy

We've always believed in the power of video and data to transform performance at every level of sport.

First, we revolutionized video analysis. Then we integrated statistical insights. Now, with our expanded performance tracking options from WIMU for professional teams to Titan for every level of play, we're delivering on our promise to make every moment count for every athlete.

When you combine Hudl's video platform with physical metrics, you get something more powerful than either alone: context. You don't just see what happened--you see how hard it was, how much it took, and why it matters.

That's not the future anymore. That's what we're delivering right now.

Greg Nelson is SVP at Hudl and a long-time football coach (and Titan user) who's seen firsthand how data transforms teams. This acquisition continues Hudl's commitment to making powerful technology accessible to programs at every level, from youth leagues to the pros.
